About cookies

Plek is legally obliged to ask your permission for the use of cookies and similar techniques, and to inform you about the use of these on our site.

Plek uses cookies and similar techniques for the following purposes:

  • optimizing the website
  • collecting and analyzing statistics
  • the integration of social media
  • the use, management and targeted display of advertisements Below you will find more information about what cookies are, which cookies we use on Plek.co and how you can delete cookies.
What are cookies?

Cookies are small pieces of data a website’s server sends to a user’s browser, for example a computer, phone or tablet. The intention is for the device to store the data and return it to the server on a subsequent visit to the respective website. This way the server can recognize the browser and keep track of the user’s, or the browser’s, actions. So in short, cookies are used to collect or store information about website visits or about (the device of) the user.

Which kinds of cookies do we use, and why?

Functional cookies

Functional cookies are necessary for Plek.co to function. Without these functional cookies, the site doesn’t perform optimally. We use these cookies by default, and they are not deleted if you don’t accept cookies. According to the Dutch cookie law, we do not need permission to use this type of cookies.

Analytical cookies

We use Google Analytics. Analytical cookies provide us with valuable insights on how people use Plek.co. For example, we keep track of whether visitors have visited our site before, how many visitors our website gets and how they end up on our website (for example via an advertisement or a link in one of our emails). We also keep track of how long visits to our website last and how many people view certain parts of our website. In addition, we store information about the browsers and the devices that are used to visit our website, such as operating system and screen size.

We use these insights to improve the functioning of our website and to improve our visitor’s experience. We do not process personal data via these analytical cookies (we do not store information such as IP addresses) and we can’t trace the statistics that we collect back to specific people. Therefore, the analytical cookies that we use don’t have any consequences for the privacy of our website’s visitors. That is why, according to the Dutch cookie law, we do not need permission to use this type of cookies.

For more information about how Google processes data, we refer to their privacy statement. Please note that this statement is subject to change.

We never provide Google with your personal details (such as your name and email address). Read more about how we treat personal data in our privacy policy.

Tracking cookies

We use two types of tracking cookies: session cookies and permanent cookies. Session cookies enable us to see which parts of our website have been viewed on your computer during a specific visit. Permanent cookies enable us to recognize your computer if you visit our website again. Tracking cookies provide us with insights on visitor behavior, and we use these cookies to recognize visitors so we can re-show them an ad (remarketing, for example via Google Adwords or LinkedIn).

Social media and other 'third-party cookies'

On Plek.co, we use buttons that enable you to share pages on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. In order for these buttons to function properly, the respective social media companies are using cookies. These are third-party cookies on Plek.co. These cookies allow these companies to recognize you when you are logged into the respective social network. The social media companies also collect data about the page you share. We have no influence on the cookies used by social media companies.

For more information about the data that social media companies collect, we refer to the privacy statements of these companies. Please note that these are subject to change.

We use a Monotype web font on Plek.co. Monotype uses cookies to identify whether or not we are correctly licensed for the use of the web fonts on Plek.co. Monotype collects your IP address, the date and timestamp of your visit to Plek.co, the URL of the licensed website (which is linked to a Monotype 'Customer ID') and the referrer URL. All data is securely stored and permanently deleted after 30 days.
